I filed a ticket through their website, but no reply from their end so far. In case the problem persists even after the above steps, what can I do from there? I believe that MSi warranty covers the above issue, seeing that the BIOS fail occurred through their app, and their BIOS version, right? I purchased the mobo not 2 months ago, and have registered it in their website. If I try to short the pins with any other conductive surface, e.g. The mobo came with no jumper caps (ridiculous for a product of this price) and I'm having a hard time trying to find any. I left it like that overnight and I'll attempt to see what happens now, but in case that the battery doed indeed need to be replaced, how do I do that?Ģ.

It has these two small diode cables, which I unplugged from the mobo (the only thing I could do for now). The CMOS battery cannot be simply removed with my fingers, as it is wrapped with insulated tape and glued on a surface. Where I need your valued insight, is this:ġ. I also went through hell to try and find where the hell MSi decided to place the CMOS batter on this one. Searching online and going through the mobo manual, I inferred that I needed to shut down and unplug the PC from power, and then completely remove the CMOS battery from the mobo and short the JBAT1 header pins with a jumper cap. The 'ClearCMOS' button on the I/O panel lit up, and I tried pressing it when the PC was shut down, but no luck there either. I can't even get to the BIOS screen to try to resolve the issue from there.

The update resulted in a failure (fml) with a recurring black screen, and Windows never booting up. Yesterday I tried to update to the latest BIOS version ( 7C34v1A, Release date: ) through the MSi DragonCenter app on my desktop.
